Protecting methods for treatment related to regenerative medicine and gene therapy in Japan

Article Abstract:

On August 7, 2003, the Japan Patent Office (JPO) had issued 'Revised Examination Guidelines', which would help in strengthening the protection on inventions related to regenerative medicine and gene therapy. For the revision to be successful, problems related to the statutory inconsistency on matters of medical activity and the ability of the current system to adapt and meet the changing needs of medical technology should be overcome.

Multi-kinase inhibitors create buzz at ASCO

Article Abstract:

American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) meeting were from phase 3 trials of two targeted therapies with multiple mechanisms of action or multi-kinase inhibitors. The two drug called sorafenib and sutent attack the actual tumor and its ability to recruit new blood vessels essential growth and dissemination via multiple mechanisms.
