Raptor, C-130J: Pentagon bungled planned cuts-lawmakers

The U.S. House members blamed the Pentagon for steering big costly aircraft acquisitions programs, including the F/A-22 Raptor fighter and C-130J transport plane, into a budgetary bind. According to the chairman of the House Armed Services Committee tactical air and land subcommittee, Rep. Curt Weldon, the budget requests for aviation acquisition programs and major cuts in the Raptor program indicate that defense programs are crashing into budgetary reality.
