The trends in consumer and business marketing after World War II are discussed. Advertising played a significant part in the business environment of the post-war years. The aluminum and rubber industries were among the sectors using advertising heavily in their marketing decisions. Advertising techniques had to undergo changes through the years as the business climate became more complex and the political milieu exercised its impact on the industry.

Focus Enhancements' message lacks ... focus
Article Abstract:
A print advertisement from hard disk manufacturer Focus Enhancements Inc failed to optimize its effects. The ad contained too many elements which inevitably minimized focus and cohesion. Even the desired effect of the headline was lessened due to the placement of the product shots. The different print types also lacked impact because of their sizes and positioning. The sub-illustrations added to the confusing theme of the ad.
