Reflective Reflec shines bright
Article Abstract:
Reflec carried out a flotation in May 1996, and should achieve a profit for 1996 due to a supply agreement with BASF. The company supplies reflective ink which becomes reflective in darkness but appears normal during daylight. The ink can be used for fabrics worn by joggers, cyclists and men repairing freeways. The European market for reflective ink is worth an annual 50 million pounds sterling, the company estimates. The company also sees a market for its product in children's clothes.

Leeds: fraying edges
Article Abstract:
Leeds is a UK textiles group which has been hit by lost orders at a fabric printing subsidiary, Strines. The group acquired Nemesis, a fabric printer from Italy, in April 1996, and Nemesis appears to be performing well. Conditions in the UK textile market are difficult and Leeds has reduced the proportion of sales that come from the UK. The company is also a supplier for Marks and Spencer. The company's pre-tax profit for 1996 is forecast at 5 million pounds sterling by Peel Hunt.
