Regional banking insiders seized opportunities in July
Article Abstract:
Insider accumulation rose during the Jun.-Jul. 1996 period in selected regional banking issues. Analysts were surprised by the high level of aggression showed by many insiders. Analysts also theorized that internal development was the main reason for the acquisitions since many stocks were not trading at discount levels at the time of acquisition. Among the companies that surfaced as attractive risk/reward opportunities are Trans-Financial Inc., National City Corp., Sovereign Bancorp and Boatmen's Bancshares.
