Retailer adapts to changing times and market
Article Abstract:
A.M. Photo is an Atlanta, GA-based photography supplies retailer that sells a wide array of products, including Kodak Gold and Advantix films and Advantix cameras, and offers a broad array of services, including one-hour E-6 processing and hand-printed black-and-white processing. Arthur Goodelman, owner of the store, said that sales have risen to 37% since the store relocated to a bigger location. Goodelman attributed the improvement in sales to the larger space as well as to the store design, which he described as brighter, more modern and allows customers to see more easily the services offered. Goodelman employs experienced people with interest in photography as a way to distinguish his store from local discount stores or campus bookstores.

PhotoVision
Article Abstract:
PhotoVision Inc. of Salem. OR, is rewarded for its winning ad, which revolves around the simple theme "Picture This." According to the company's owner, Brian Wood, the general aim of the campaign is to urge customers to take pictures. The campaign which ran for about a year, included six print and radio ads. The ads asked customers to picture scenarios such as a 3 a.m. Christmas Eve meeting with Santa Claus and a "Golden Man" statue atop the Salem capitol building doing the macarena. Although customers are not likely to experience such events, what the ads stress is the importance of having a camera on hand for life's many surprises.
