Riva: distant recovery
Article Abstract:
Riva supplies electronic point of sale (Epos) equipment, and the company has had to adapt to a change in demand to more sophisticated systems. The company faces competition from established players in the customer service and software markets, where it is seeking to expand, while hardware profit margins are under pressure. The company also has high levels of debt, and this hampers investment. The company is forecast to break even in 1996 and report a profit of 1 million pounds sterling for 1997 according to Albert E. Sharp.
