Russian space commercialization - getting the banks involved
Article Abstract:
The Russian banks that have helped in the country's economic revival should be encouraged to contribute to the commercialization of Russian space projects and technologies. The banks can invest in the domestic space industry, previously financed by the state. Providing finance information and undertaking feasibility studies can generate large profits. The banks should initiate 'market education' of competitive industrial and scientific structures related to space technology. Financing space and other high technology areas would enhance the banks' standing worldwide.

Funding for space - private finance for public space missions?
Article Abstract:
The UK government has adopted a policy called the Private Finance Initiative (PFI) or Public Private Partnership where it solicits private investment to replace public funding. PFI is based on the basic precept that the manner in which the government procures affects the manner in which industry delivers. It works on the idea that savings in cost or enhanced performance can be achieved in public purchasing by shifting the risks to the party best able to handle them and rewarding them for success. PFI is thoroughly analyzed.

Public views of using nuclear energy sources in space missions
Article Abstract:
Nuclear energy sources are more feasible than traditional energy sources such as the sun and the seas, due to their compact size, low-to-moderate mass, and high reliability. However, nuclear energy systems are dangerous and face public disapproval. The space community must understand the public and elicit its response to space missions that used nuclear energy. Subsequently, public views can be incorporated in the nation's space policy.
