Screening for peptide drug from the natural repertoire of biodiverse protein folds
Article Abstract:
A study proposing that the protein domain contained in diverse biological material are a rich source of potentially useful peptides, which, once found, could be used not only to guide drug development but also to elucidate the role of particular protein interaction is presented. The peptides derived from the naturally occurring protein domains provide a better source for peptides that interface in the interactions than randomly encoded peptides is argued.

An improved cyan fluorescent protein variant useful for FRET
Article Abstract:
Biochemical phenomenon in living cells is observed using genetically encoded biosensors that are based on Forster resonance energy transfer (FRET) between fluorescent proteins. Enhanced cyan fluorescent protein (ECFP) can also be used but they have several spectroscopic disadvantages, which may be improved through a site-directed mutagenesis approach.

Soft landing for protein chips
Article Abstract:
Protein chips have a good potential for analyzing protein function and regulation, as well as drug target identification. Protein mass spectrometry is designed to be destructive, but it is gentle enough to maintain biological activity.
