SmithKline shoots up
Article Abstract:
SmithKline Beecham's share price rose in Aug 1996. Five stockbrokers from a sample of six rate the shares a buy, while one rates the shares a hold. Buyers include Goldman Sachs which sees the company's margins from pharmaceutical products as strong, and the company's sales growth as superior. The holder is Lehman Brothers which is concerned about SmithKline Beecham's cash generation. Over the longer term the company should benefit from investments in genetic science.
