Survey on Americans & Food Technology
Article Abstract:
US consumers are increasingly aware of biotechnology but have not changed their food consumption habits, according to a recent national survey by the Grocery Manufacturers of America. This despite reports on the recall of taco shells that said to contain unapproved biotech corn. The survey shows that 67% would be likely to purchase produce that had been modified through biotechnology to use fewer pesticides. Similary, about 66% would purchase such products if they were modified to contain more vitamins and nutrients.
