Talking telephone numbers
Article Abstract:
TeleWest stockholders have an opportunity to sell their stocks which have risen above the flotation price, which has not happened for three years. TeleWest is merging with General Cable, and takeover speculation is pushing up the company's stock price. The two companies lost a combined total of 400 million pounds sterling in 1997 and are not likely to make a profit before five years has elapsed, according to the most optimistic forecasts. The two companies also have debts and face competition from BT.
