The Thomas M. Taylor and Dort Cameron 3d beneficial ownership group purchased an additional 336,000 Terex Corp shares at 10-11 1/2 in June to raiseits holdings to 12.4% (1.23 million shares). Chmn Ronald W. W. Lenz also boughtat 10 points 10,000 more shares to add to his 52% holding. Meanwhile, FMR Corp sold 453,500 shares in May and June to reduce its stake to 593,000 (5.96%). Although Terex has incurred deficits in four of the last five quarters, future performance seems to be on the rise. A 6-cent dividend is given on the 10 million shares with 20% held by institutions.

Albany International Corp

Albany International Corp stock posted a 1 1/8 gain and settled at 14 1/2 for the trading week ended Nov 6, 1992 despite uncertainty over the Dec 1992 quarter restrucutring charge. The stock has not approximated its 52-week high of 21 1/4 but it has gained substantially from a low of 11 1/4 in Oct 1992. The price appreciation is due to good Sep 1992 quarter earnings of eight cents a share and encouraging projections even in the midst of recession. The Bass family also bought 837,000 raising its interest to 5.6%.

Insider trading in Newcor Inc has proven profitable for Newcor Pres Richard Smith and Directors Jerry Campbell and Frank Klapperich who bought 70,000 shares of the firm's stock. The securities eventually rose to $13 per share. The company quadrupled its FY 1991 profits by the 3rd qtr, but suffered an ensuing decline in its 4th quarter results.
