The US food discounter's invasion of Canada and Britain: a power perspective
Article Abstract:
The entry of US retail and warehouse stores into Canadian and British markets was brought about by various factors such as the need for overseas expansion in a local recession, price-competitiveness, and deregulation. The specific cases of the movements of Wal-Mart into Canada and of COSTCO into the UK, can be viewed in the context of these factors and not only as a consequence of NAFTA.
