The art of marketing
Article Abstract:
Accounting examinations for students in the UK seek to simulate corporate rates to gauge the examinees' knowledge of corporate and people management. It is useful for these students to pay closer attention to marketing issues since these have become a prominent feature of the ACCA teaching guide. Of particular concern to examinees is the topic of marketing mix. This term refers to the marketing tools or ways of managing the marketing budget that are used to improve the positioning of products at target market segments. The elements of the marketing mix are product, price, promotion and place. 'Product' refers to all the variables that impact image or position, 'price' concerns the decision to compete on price rather than on product differentiation, 'promotion' pertains to communication, while 'place' has to do with distribution issues. These marketing elements are discussed.

You can do it!
Article Abstract:
Foreigners who are not fluent in English can still pass the ACCA examination. Even if their knowledge of the language is not perfect, overseas examinees can make up for this shortcoming and increase their chances of passing by knowing what to do and what not to do while taking the examination. The things to avoid include providing answers that are too clever or too critical, writing in the margin, writing personal notes to the examiners, and worrying too much about errors in grammar, spelling and punctuation. The things to do include filling in the examination cover properly, reading the questions carefully, planning answers physically and mentally, and keeping answers simple in terms of both content and presentation.
