Biotech companies from Europe and United States have started gathering data that would enable them to demonstrate the value of their products, as there is an absence of pharmacoeconomic model for assessing the cost effectiveness of biotech drugs. The main challenge for drug marketers is to generate appropriate data that will enable healthcare providers to understand the value attached to a company's product.

The US is in the process of diversifying their sources of supply, and hence is considering various innovative measures and techniques that will assist in combating the scarcity of vaccines.
