The fitness movement remains strong
Article Abstract:
The Sporting Goods Manufacturers Assn reports that sales of physical fitness equipment grew by 6% in 2000, and is expected to sustain the same growth rate in 2001. The rise in demand for physical fitness equipment is attributed to baby boomers who have the means and inclination to join health clubs and invest in home fitness equipment. The home fitness market has enjoyed significant sales in treadmills while health clubs and their memberships have steadily grown since the early 1990s.
