The rise of the financial eye
Article Abstract:
Forensic accounting, also known as litigation support, is becoming an increasingly popular practice in some of the world's major financial cities including New York, Toronto, London, and in the Scottish cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh. Forensic accounting involves the assessment of loss resulting from negligence or breach of contract and provides expert testimony for such cases. The primary factors driving the popularity of forensic accounting are reduced profitability and the increase in litigations during the era of the recession. Other factors such as the increase of contract vulnerability to dispute and fraud, are requiring forensic accounting to assume responsibility for the detection of loss and investigation of fraud.

Red card for football finance
Article Abstract:
Scottish football clubs are in poor financial condition. A review of the game's financial standing revealed that it is under-capitalized and over-borrowed. With the increasing cost of maintaining football clubs, many owners find it a struggle just to stay in business. Sources of much-needed funds such as sponsorship, video deals, merchandising and debenture schemes, and satellite television are only available to clubs already showing profit. Merging, turning amateur, or facing bankruptcy seem to be the only options left to Scottish football clubs.
