This time round I'm hoping popularity won't breed contempt
Article Abstract:
Nasdaq has held a conference in London, England, on telecoms, the internet and technology, and bullish accounts have been put forward by a number of strong companies such as Sun Microsystems. Yet previous conferences have been held on different sectors such as real estate, biotechnology and gas, and stock prices for many companies in these sectors have not performed well. The companies involved in the Nasdaq conference have presented impressive statistics, and the question remains as to whether they could perform as well as expected, or whether hopes will again be unrealized.

The futile search for bubble.com
Article Abstract:
Technology stocks have risen in price following the launch of Techmark, and this indicates that speculation may have helped to fuel the stock price rise. These stocks have risen both when bond yields have fallen, and when they have risen. Investors are concerned that retailers and utilities lack pricing power and stocks with growth potential have therefore become more attractive. It is unclear how long the stock price rise will last, and it is difficult to forecast the impact of technological change.
