The tourism industry in Nepal, a landlocked country located in the Himalayas, offers foreign investors a great opportunity. The Nepal tourism industry attracted $114.4 million in foreign investment between FY 1990-91 and Dec 1995. In 1994, tourist arrivals totalled 326,531, an 11.2% increase over 1993. The country offers spectacular scenery that attracts trekkers, as well as white water river rafting.
