Toward a new business model for newspapers
Article Abstract:
The newspaper industry must keep in step with a rapidly changing competitive landscape in the 21st century. Change in the contemporary world as it moves from an industrial toward an information society is being driven primarily by technology. Success for newspapers within the digital society will therefore depend on a different set of parameters. These include knowledge of the customer, information and communication technology competencies within organizations, 'sense-and-respond' marketing, the surrendering of industrial management, appropriate mindset and scale. It is a fact that newspapers will be vastly different in the near future. Thus, a radically new business model is emerging for newspaper publishing.

Teens take on newspapers
Article Abstract:
A study published by the Newspaper Assn of America revealed that teenagers see newspapers as their third-best source for quick information, right after the Internet and TV. The study, conducted by Teen Research Unlimited, also listed newspapets as the last place the group look to for entertainment value. Asked for their opinion on how to make newspapers more relevant for their age group, teenagers asked for more attractive layouts and additional youth content or a special section devoted to them.
