Trunk strength in combined motions of rotation and flexion/extension in normal young adults
Article Abstract:
Trunk strength was measured in a sample of normal young adults who were subjected to functional rotational isometric and isokinetic tasks of the trunk. Findings showed that males were stronger than females. Isometric activities produced greater torque in contrast to isokinetic efforts. The angle of rotation only had a small effect while the degree of trunk flexion had no significant effect. Results suggested that the motion involved rather than the torque may have a consequential effect in the precipitation of back injuries.

Perceived physical stress at work and musculoskeletal discomfort in x-ray technologists
Article Abstract:
The demographic, personal, occupational and occupational health factors as well as recreational physical activities which can affect X-ray technologists' musculoskeletal symptoms was explored by administrating a structured questionnaire/interview on participants from two University hospitals. The findings showed that the majority of technologists had suffered multiple episodes of pain and fifty percent of the female sample and both male volunteers suffered from upper extremity pain.

Torque and EMG in isometric graded flexion-rotation and extension-rotation
Article Abstract:
Research presented concerns the physiological aspects of the trunk muscles implicated in lower back pain, focusing on muscle movement in flexion-rotation and extension-rotation. Researchers used electromyography to study the muscles while performing these rotations.
