Opposition to biotechnology is on the rise, although a majority of US citizens remain supportive. In comparison with people in the rest of the developed world, people in the US have fewer concerns about biotechnology. Graphs are provided.

A policy has been created and approved by the American Society of Gene Therapy which prevents team members and investigators involved in clinical trials of gene therapy to not have any financial stake with the outcome of the trials.
