Understanding and evaluating manual handling injuries: NIOSH research studies
Article Abstract:
Research by the NIOSH on the development of intervention strategies for the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries which happen during manual handling work is presented. Since such injuries have a vital impact on lost work time, pain and suffering and cost to American labor and industry, the NIOSH continues to promote research projects for monitoring job-related risk variables.

Article Abstract:
A brief review on the background knowledge and considerations that led to the content of ISO 11226 and EN 1005-4, international standards for evaluating working postures and movements, is presented. The former helps in designing work, jobs and products and the latter deals with the health risks during the designing of machinery.
