Electric utility funds are attracting investors from within the industry and other market sectors. However, an analysis of the performance of these funds have shown a volatile performance over the past years. Analysts caution investors not to mistake the funds' dramatic increase in 1995, which posted average 23.93% average return, as an indicator of the market. They say that even electric utility industry insiders are showing decreased interest in their companies' shares.
