Aggreko
Article Abstract:
Aggreko was part of Christian Salvesen until 1997, when it was demerged. The company rents compressors and generators and it designs and assembles much of its equipment. Products can be adapted to the needs of clients, which means that Aggreko can charge more. The company should benefit from strong demand from both developing and developed countries. There are concerns that a shortage of skilled employees could prove problematic, but the company's prospects appear good.

Vibroplant
Article Abstract:
Vibroplant is a UK plant hirer which reported an underlying profit fo 4.9 million pounds sterling for FY 1994-1995. The company is abandoning its US activities where it has been hit by problems in the construction industry in California. UK profit was up by 80% but competition is intense in the UK, so expansion is likely to be difficult. The company has set up a service center in Harrogate, England, and this has involved an investment of 1.8 million pounds sterling.
