Using Computer Simulation to Select an ACD
Article Abstract:
Automatic call distributors (ACDs) cost-effectively distribute incoming calls to agents. In choosing the right ACD, telemarketing companies should consider psychological factors, such as how long will callers hold and will they call back, as well as equipment factors. Computer simulation is a means whereby managers can quantify these factors and select the best ACD for their particular business. A diagram of ACD components and performance tables are included.
