Fox Photographics was able to double its gross sales for the past five years after the company decided to enter the digital publishing business in 1994. Fox, which started out as a school picture company, found that growth lay in the digital printing of school yearbooks. The company has grown into 15 full-time employees plus another 7 part-time employees during the January-June yearbook season. It is already using a four-color Heidelberg press to produce the yearbooks.

Montreal, Canada-based Imagetech Resource Laboratories' Collochrome and Tri-Color processes reinvent imaging. Collochrome is an ultra-high resolution digital output on photo paper which incorporates oversampling rather than interpolating. Like the Collchrome, the Tri-Color process offers advantages over direct digital writers. The Tri-Color also does not require substantial capital investment.
