Yielding to second thoughts
Article Abstract:
It is difficult to believe that a dividend yield of 6% can be achieved in addition to capital gains for an equity portfolio. Edinburgh Fund Management argues that it is possible, and the stock selection chosen by this company for their investment trust reflects a trend in markets of moving toward cyclical stocks. This has meant moving out of pharmaceuticals, telecoms and information technology, seen as obvious candidates for growth, and moving toward smaller companies. There are still doubts as to whether the target can be achieved.
