You're fired! Here's a bonus
Article Abstract:
Ford Motor Co. will soon offer a cash bonus to under-performing employees, for leaving the Dearborn, MI-based automotive firm. As part of its downsizing initiatives, Ford will offer some of its personnel a so-called special retirement and separation incentive, although this buy-out strategy will be voluntary, notes company spokesperson Francine MacBride. This new incentive can be linked to the common business strategy of early-retirement packages, which are prompted by the need to bring in younger talent to replace employees that enjoy growing salaries and benefits, according to Mike Segreti, director of travel for Schaumberg, IL-based Motivation Excellence Inc.
