Z-Test Gives Early Bankruptcy Warning
Article Abstract:
A financial model is often used to predict bankruptcy of a firm. This is called the Z-Test. Essentially this procedure finds a linear expression on a multivariate level. The mathematical formula that results gives a score that helps distinguish between a firm that is fast growing and one that is dying. The test has been very successful for up to one year prior to a firm's failing.

Maximizing Use of FTZs
Article Abstract:
Foreign trade zones (FTZs) are gaining attention. The shipping of goods into an FTZ usually determines its benefits. Advantages include lower insurance costs and cash flow savings on duties. Changes in regulations and increasing foreign labor costs should make them more attractive. As an alternative, importers may use a temporary importation bond.
