Interaction of acetic acid with solid water
Article Abstract:
The interaction of acetic acid (AA, CH3COOH), with solid water, deposited on metals, tungsten and gold, at 80 K, is investigated. Acid-water interfaces at 80K, namely acid layers on thin films of solid water and H2O adilayers on thin acid films are prepared and annealed between 80 and 200 K.

Adsorption/desorption of carbon suboxide (C3O2) on amorphous and crystalline ice films monitored by infrared spectroscopy
Article Abstract:
The adsorption and desorption of C3O2 on amorphous and crystalline ice films are investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Results show that no adsorption occurs on a crystalline film while the C3O2 desorption temperature from the ice surface is similar to that of solid C3O2 desorption. On the other hand, a near monolayer state is observed in the adsorbate-covered amorphous ice surface where in the C3O2 forms a hydrogen bond with the free OH groups on the surface.
