Differential charging in SiO2/Si system as determined by XPS
Article Abstract:
The Si2p binding and the Si (sub KLL) kinetic energy difference between the SiO2 layer and Si substrate is shown to be influenced by application of external voltage bias to the sample holder due to the differential charging are discussed. It is also shown that citrate-capped gold nanoclusters deposited on the SiO2/Si system experience differential charging similar to that of the oxide layer rather than the silicon substrates.

Dynamics of exchange at gas-zeolite interfaces I: pure component n-butane and isobutane
Article Abstract:
The results of molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations of n-butane and isobutane in silicalite are presented. The molecules from the gas enter the zeolite primarily through the adsorption layer, where they hop among preferred adsorption sites until entering a pore mouth.
