Effect of spatially distributed hydrophobic surface residues on protein-polymer association
Article Abstract:
The effect of the spatial distribution of hydrophobic surface residues on the adsorption of a weakly hydrophobic polymer to proteins is investigated using a coarse-grain model solved by Monte Carlo simulations. The degree of heterogeneity of the site distributions is quantified with the help of the variance of the number of sites located within randomly positioned circles placed on the protein surface.

Significant effects of magnetic and gravitational fields on the morphology of protein crystals (orthorhombic lysozyme crystals grown using NiCl2 as crystallization agents)
Article Abstract:
The significant effects of magnetic fields (both horizontal and vertical) on the morphology of orthorhombic crystal are investigated. The study shows a quantitatively for the first time that the gravitational field influences the crystal morphology via buoyancy-driven convection.

Magnetic-field-induced orientation of photosynthetic reaction centers, as revealed by time-resolved D-band electron paramagnetic resonance of spin-correlated radical pairs. II. field dependence of the alignment
Article Abstract:
Time resolved D-band (130 GHz) electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) has been used to study magnetic-field-induced orientation of photosynthetic reaction centers. This indicates that whole cells are aligned in the magneto-orientation process.
