Effects of precursor and support variation in the genesis of uranium oxide catalysts for CO oxidation and selective reduction of NO: Synthesis and characterization
Article Abstract:
A range of uranium oxide-based catalysts, derived from UO2(NO3) 2.6H2O and UCl4 precursors, and supported on gamma-AI2O3, SiO2 and mesoporous H1SiO2 are synthesized and then characterized using the methods like isothermal nitrogen adsorption/desorption measurements and others. Titration of the accessible hydroxyl group concentrations shows that in these materials the density of OH groups is considerably lower than in their amorphous counterparts.

Substrate-mediated oxidation of carbon residues by TiO2{110}-supported model catalysts: metal-, precursor-, and treatment-dependent labilization of framework oxygen
Article Abstract:
Thermal and chemical treatment of metallo-organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD)-prepared Rh and Pd model catalysts, supported on TiO2{110}, lead to the formation of carbon residues that are oxidized to CO at elevated temperatures. Observations are discussed in terms of the mobility of surface oxygen species on TiO2{110}, metal- support interactions, and the effect of Cl incorporation into the Tio2 substrate.

A comparative study of methodologies for the incorporation of Ge into H1SiO2-supported, Pt(acac)(sub 2)-derived, Pt-Ge catalysts and the effect of internal oxide structure on particle morphology and CO adsorption
Article Abstract:
The study is conducted on five synthetic approaches to the incorporation of geranium into materials based on Pt(acac)(sub 2) supported on HISiO2 by using various spectroscopy methods. The origin of new absorptions is discussed in term of formation of Pt or PtGe particles with a morphology that is directed by the internal structure of the mesoporous support.
