Spectroscopic study of lysopalmitoylphosphatidylcholine Newton black films
Article Abstract:
Raman spectroscopy is used to study lysopalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (LPC) black films and their spectra are analyzed and compared to their counterparts obtained from LPC in the solid state and aqueous solution. A complementary infrared study of LPC Gibbs monolayers shows that the whole LPC polar head is perpendicular to the air/water surface and this explains the high order and the close packing observed in black films.

Highly ordered polymer films of amphiphilic, regioregular polythiophene derivatives
Article Abstract:
The fabrication and characterization of highly ordered thin films made from amphiphilic, regioregular polythiophene derivatives, are described. These films offer the potential for elucidating the connection between polymer morphology and physical property in materials that are otherwise subject to a sufficiently complex distribution of morphologies.
