Charge separation in acridine- and phenothiazine-modified DNA
Article Abstract:
The mechanism of charge separation in DNA is studied by synthesizing protonated 9-alkylamino-6-chloro-2-methoxyacridine ([Acr.super.}) and phenothiazine modified DNAs. The charge separation process in DNA is achieved by placing a single intervening A-T base pair between [Acr.super.} and the nucleobase G-C to be oxidized to decrease the rate of charge recombination.

Singlet energy migration along an alternating block copolymer of oligothiophene and oligosilylene in solution
Article Abstract:
The singlet excited-state properties of the block copolymers of oligothiophene and oligosilylene in solution are investigated with several fast spectroscopic methods. The intersystem crossing process generating the triplet excited state is revealed by the transient absorption spectroscopy.
