Preparation of ordered mesoporous SiC from preceramic polymer templated by nanoporous silica

Article Abstract:

The preparation of highly ordered mesoporous SiC materials by using two types of nanoporous silica as templates and a low viscosity liquid polymer allylhydridopolycarbosilane as a stoichiometric SiC precursor is reported. The results have shown that the ordered structures of mesoporous SiC are exact inverse of their respective silica templates, as characterized by small angle X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM) images, and the adsorption-desorption isotherm of nitrogen.

The two-component system CC14+CBrC13. Inference of the lattice symmetry of phase II of CBrC13

Article Abstract:

The stable phase diagram between CCl4 and CBrCl3 compounds as well as the metastable two-phase equilibria are determined, using calorimetric and X-ray powder diffraction. The thermodynamic assessment reproduces the phase diagram (stable two-phase equilibria, M + R, R + L, and a part of the FCC + L) as well as the partially metastable [FCC + L] two-phase equilibrium and provides a coherent set of data for the properties of nonexperimentally available phase transitions of pure components.

Multiple crossed isopolymorphism: Two-component systems C[Cl.sub.4] + C[Br.sub.2][Cl.sub.2] and CBr[Cl.sub.3] + C[Br.sub.2][Cl.sub.2]; inference of a metastable rhombohedral phase of C[Br.sub.2][Cl.sub.2]

Article Abstract:

The phase diagrams of the two-component systems C[Cl.sub.4] + C[Br.sub.2][Cl.sub.2] and CBr[Cl.sub.3] + C[Br.sub.2][Cl.sub.2] determined by X-ray powder diffraction and thermal analysis techniques from the low-temperature ordered phase to the liquid state is presented.
