Shape control of monodisperse CdS nanocrystals: Hexagon and pyramid
Article Abstract:
The selective synthesis of the wurtzite CdS nanocrystals with hexagonal or pyramidal geometries was carried out by tuning the molar ratio of Cd and S precursors in the solution system. The room-temperature absorption spectra of CdS nanoparticles with hexagonal and pyramidal morphologies exhibited a discrepancy in peak position, revealing the existence of a profound shape-property relationship for the CdS nanophase.

Morphology-controllable synthesis and characterization of hierarchical 3D C[o.sub.1-x]M[n.sub.x]O nanostructures
Article Abstract:
The synthesis of multirod and hierarchically spherical three-dimensional (3D) MnO nanostructures by the decomposition of acetylacetonate precursors is reported. The results indicate that morphology is controllable through controlling heating rate, slow heating rate and weak refluxing resulted in slower nucleation and higher monomer concentration.
