Mechanistic aspects of homogeneous and heterogeneous melting processes
Article Abstract:
Molecular dynamics simulations are applied to explore the response of crystalline Ar systems with or without a free surface to a gradual temperature rise. The findings indicate that the gradual disordering of the crystalline lattice as well as the homogeneous and heterogeneous melting processes are mediated by atoms with defective coordination.

Optical and dynamic properties of water-soluble highly luminescent CdTe quantum dots
Article Abstract:
The analysis explains the synthesis and the optical and dynamic properties of the water-soluble highly luminescent CdTe quantum dots (QDs). The results prove that the luminescence blinking statistics of these QDs completely depends on the aqueous environment.
