Structure and growth of thin films of aniline on silver: Nucleation and premelting of nanocrystallites, porosity, and crystallization
Article Abstract:
The optical second harmonic generation (SHG) and linear optical differential reflectivity (DR) are used to examine the growth and structure of thin films of aniline vapor deposited on low-index Ag surfaces. It was found that for molecules with stronger intermolecular interactions, upon deposition of a molecule, more enthalpy is released, causing them to reorient into crystalline form while the low deposition temperature prevents diffusion for further crystallization beyond nanocrystallites.

Evolution of polyaniline nanotubes: The oxidation of aniline in water
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the course of aniline oxidation with ammonium peroxydisulfate in aqueous solutions in the absence of any added acid, as it is observed by temperature and pH measurement is presented. The results indicate that aniline oligomers are more soluble in chloroform than the polymer fraction, which contains nanotubes.

Hydrogen sensors based on conductivity changes in polyaniline nanofibers
Article Abstract:
Acid doped polyaniline nanofibers are examined for use as room-temperature hydrogen sensors. Results reveal that polyaniline nanofibers have the potential of being a good room-temperature hydrogen sensor in a dry atmosphere, and that their response is not inhibited by oxygen unlike many hydrogen sensors.
