Study of the semidilute solutions of poly(N,N-dimethylacrylamide) by fluorescence and its implications to the kinetics of coil-to-globule transitions

Article Abstract:

The dynamics of poly(N,N-dimethylacrylamide) chains randomly labeled with pyrene (Py-PDMA) were monitored by steady-state fluorescence in the semidilute medium of naked PDMA in acetone and DMF. Increasing polymer concentration led to a decrease in the mobility of the chromophore attached to PDMA and was characterized by the number of monomers occupying the volume probed by the excited chromophore or fluorescence blob.

Time-resolved and steady-state fluorescence studies of hydrophobically modified water-soluble polymers

Article Abstract:

A comprehensive study of the photophysical behavior of poly(acrylic acids) randomly labeled with pyrene employing steady-state and time resolved fluorescence spectroscopy is reported. Time-resolved fluorescence spectroscopy is found to be a powerful technique in the interpretation of the photophysical behavior of these pyrene-labeled PAA polymers.

Maleated ethylene-propylene random copolymers: determination of the microstructure and association level by fluorescence spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The experiments were conducted using fluorescence spectroscopy to study the microstructure of ethylene-propylene copolymers. The results show that 70% of all pyrene groups were located at small distances from one another and form excimer readily and in apolar hexane, 87% of all pyrene groups are involved into loose pyrene aggregates.
