Synthesis of thiolate-stabilized platinum nanoparticles in protolytic solvents as isolable colloida
Article Abstract:
Water-dispersible, isoble thiolate-stabilized platinum nanoparticles are synthesized by two one-phase methods, where one is conducted in water, another mainly in methanol, through the reduction of chloroplatinic acid with sodium borohydride, using mercaptosuccinic acid (MSA) as the stabilizer. The well-separated fcc single crystal particles of 2.5 nm are obtained in water when initial molar ratio of mercaptosuccinic acid to Pt (S/Pt) is 0.7.

Temperature-dependent anti/Stokes/Stokes ratios under surface-enhanced Raman scattering conditions
Article Abstract:
Systematic measurements of Raman anti-Stokes/Stokes (aS/S) ratios are carried out using two different laser excitations of rhodamine on dried Ag colloids over a wide range of temperatures. It is shown that it is possible to decouple in dry samples the contributions of the thermal population and resonances in the aS/S ratios by performing a T-scan and evidence is found for mode specific vibrational pumping at higher laser power densities.

Origins of the speckles and slow dynamics of polymer gels
Article Abstract:
The chain dynamics at each stage of the sol-gel transition was studied with reference to UV reaction. The origin of the speckles and focus on the slow relaxation in the gel state, and how it is related to the slow mode in semi dilute solution is discussed.
