TiCl(sub 3)-enhanced NaAlH(sub 4): Impact of excess Al and development of the Al(sub 1-y)Ti(sub y) phase during cycling

Article Abstract:

NaAlH(sub 4) with TiCl(sub 3) and Al were mixed by ball-milling and cycled 3 times and hydrogen storage properties were monitored. When excess of Al was added, the observed storage capacity increased significantly and the Na(sub 3)AlH(sub 6) content was small after rehydrogenation; there was no change in unit-cell dimensions during desorption and there is no sign of changes in the bulk composition of the Al(sub 1-y)Ti(sub y) phase during a cycle.

Influence of aluminum doping on ferrihydrite nanoparticle reactivity

Article Abstract:

The influence of aluminum content on the redox reactivity of ferrihydrite nanoparticles as determined by kinetic studies of the reductive dissolution of the particles by hydroquinone is examined. The results show an increase in [DELTA]S*, a decrease in [DELTA]H*, a decrease in [DELTA]G* and therefore an overall increase in the reactivity of ferrihydrite particles with increasing aluminum substitution.

Low-temperature adsorption of hydrogen on nanoporous aluminophosphates: Effect of pore size

Article Abstract:

The effect of pore diameter on the hydrogen adsorption characteristics was analyzed by using several nanoporous aluminophosphates (AlPOs). The results show that the heat of adsorption and adsorption capacity per unit micropore volume increase with decreasing pore size.
