Trapping, pattern formation, and ordering of polyelectrolyte/single-wall carbon nanotubes complexes at the air/water and air/solid interfaces
Article Abstract:
A new method to construct structurally well-ordered, oriented, and organized assemblies of water-soluble single wall carbon nanotubes (ws- SWCNTs) at the air/water and air/solid interfaces by applying the Langmuir and Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique is described. The ws-SWCNT thin films and pristine carbon nanotube films can present opportunities in the design and construction of chemical and biological sensors, optical devices, and other molecular and nanoscopic architectures.

Influence of the semiconducting properties of a current collector on the electric double layer formation on porus carbon
Article Abstract:
The electrochemical behavior of polyacrylonitrile-based activated carbon cloth combined with a stainless steel current collector was examined by using an ac impedance spectroscopy. Impedance analysis reflected that the space charge region of the passive layer dominates the electrochemical behavior of the carbon/stainless steel composite electrode in the high frequency region.

Controlling the incorporation and release of C(sub 60) in nanometer-scale hollow spaces inside single-wall carbon nanohorns
Article Abstract:
'Nano-precipitation' method was demonstrated which can be used to incorporate the C(sub 60) in the single-wall carbon nanohorns (SWNHx) and could obtain large quantity of C(sub 60)@SWNHox. It was found that it was possible to incorporate C(sub 60) and, moreover, that the filling quantity and release rates were controllable.
