Ultraviolet photoluminescence of silanol species in mesoporous silica
Article Abstract:
The optical properties of sol-gel synthesized porous silica excited by synchrotron radiation in the 4-10 eV range of samples with different porosity at 8 K and room temperature are reported. The analysis of the ultraviolet photoluminescence indicates the contributions of two different emitting centers.

Hybrid materials for solid-state dye laser applications
Article Abstract:
The analysis of the photoluminescence properties of different Rhodamine 6G-silica samples, which includes class I and class II hybrids, prepared by sol-gel method is reported. The photoluminescence and photoetching features have shown the class II samples as good candidates for solid-state dye lasers.
