Water dynamics in hardened ordinary Portland cement paste or concrete: From quasielastic neutron scattering
Article Abstract:
A series of quasielastic neutron scattering (QENS) experiments were carried out on cement pastes with water/cement ratio varying to investigate the interaction of water in the gel pores with the cement paste made from Portland cement. The results reveal that to a first approximation the QE response can be explained in terms of the diffusion of water within the gel pores within the paste and that QENS can be used to examine the interactions of the pore water to the pores structure in the paste.

Theoretical studies of solute vibrational energy relaxation at liquid interfaces
Article Abstract:
A study related with advances in the theoretical understanding of solute vibrational energy relaxation at liquid interfaces and surfaces are described. The relaxation rate at the liquid/liquid interface strongly depends on the location of the solute across the interface and correlates with the change in the density and polarity profile of the interface.

Hydrogen bond dynamics at water/organic liquid interfaces
Article Abstract:
Molecular dynamics computer simulations are used to study the hydrogen bond dynamics at the neat interface between water and a series of organic liquids. The dynamics are found to be slower at the interface than in bulk and sensitive to the location of the water molecules along the interface normal.
