The personal digital assistant (PDA) has evolved into a highly sophisticated instrument that may likely become an indispensable, critical tool for personal success in the 21st century. The first PDAs were merely electronic reminders or lists where one nted things to do, birthdays and appointments. PDA capabilities have considerably expanded since then and their functions in 2000 approach those of desktop computers. Communication functions in PDAs have become especially vital.

Ricoh Company Ltd's booth at CeBIT '99 in Hannover, Germany, featured its latest line of digital copiers and laser printers. The products featured include the Aficio Colour 6000 color copier that is capable of stable and accurate output at 600 dpi. Other products exhibited include the Aficio Colour 4006/4106, 3006 and 180 digital copiers, the AP 2000, 204 and 305 color laser printers and the Bizworks 406 and 406DF line of laser printers.
