Anticipating market polarity, Fujifilm focuses on deluxe end
Article Abstract:
Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd. (Fujifilm) will focus its development efforts on top-end digital cameras, such as the company's flagship MX-700 model launched in spring of 1998. The MX-700 records images on Smart Media cards, allows wireless operation and works with a floppy disc drive. Aside from camera shops, Fujifilm is selling the MX-700 through channels for consumer products and specialty photo supplies. Yasuhiro Egami, Operations Manager in the Marketing Division, assumes that the MX-700 will have a loyal following in the US.
