Cutting Mailroom Costs
Article Abstract:
Escalating volume and costs of mail preparation have resulted in companies finding more efficient and cost-saving ways of handling postal volume. One company used a Pitney Bowes electronic scale that helped to save $100,000 a year by choosing the most economical means of shipping to any country. An electronic accounting system from Pitney Bowes helped reduce costs by providing accurate accounting of postage totals of each department. Another Pitney Bowes system weighs and applies postage for mailing by Postal Service or UPS for a company that produces navigation charts, significantly reducing costs. A photograph shows electronic accounting equipment interfaced with Pitney Bowes mailing equipment.
